Hall of Fame courses including Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan will be postponed until 2021.
Jerry Colangelo, chairman of the Hall of Fame Council, announced that the proposed date does not apply to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The onboarding ceremony was originally scheduled for August 28-30, and the extension was initially discussed from October 10-12.
“We are definitely going to cancel,” Colangelo said.
“This must be the first quarter of next year. We will meet in a few weeks to discuss how and when and where to choose.”
There will still be sunshine in the 2020 grade, and Colangelo does not recommend merging the 2020 grade with the 2021 grade.
He said: “Year 2020 is a very special category and worth celebrating.”
