According to reports, the Cleveland Cavaliers are “making progress” in their buyout discussions with Kevin Love
The Cleveland Cavaliers acquired Laurie Markanen through a three-team deal earlier today, and together with Kevin Love made new progress in the team.
In his current $60 million transaction, Love has two years to go. according to Terry Bruto of the Cleveland website, The Cavaliers have begun discussions with Kevin Love about a potential buyout.
Although Pluto advised the team to negotiate a buyout with Love, the Cavaliers denied any rumors about the veteran forward.
“What about love? An NBA source told me that the Cavaliers are making progress to buy out Love. Love’s contract has two years and $60 million left. But the Cavaliers and other NBA sources strongly deny this. This may just be another rumor by Kevin Love, and there have been many over the years. At some point, buying out love makes sense for both parties. I don’t know when it will happen.”
Since the end of the 2018-2019 season, the Cavaliers have been trying to trade Love. In the past three years, there has been absolutely no trading partner.
