The Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to trade veteran Marc Gasol to the Memphis Grizzlies-no, this is not 2008.
Gasol’s draft pick was previously traded to the Grizzlies by the Lakers in 2008 in exchange for a package including his brother Paul.
This transaction was reported by Adrian Wojnarowski ESPN, Will give out Gasol, a 2024 second-round pick, and exchange cash for Wang Zhelin’s pick.
The 27-year-old Zhelin was selected by the Grizzlies in the second round of the 2016 draft (57th overall).
The Grizzlies plan to abandon Gasol so that he can stay in Spain with his family.
In 14 seasons in the NBA, Gasol averaged 14 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.
Gasol is likely to be voted in the Hall of Fame for his prolific international career, and he won two Olympic silver medals.
