The newly acquired Philadelphia 76ers forward Ryan Broekhoff said on Sunday that he would not travel to Orlando to join the upcoming season to restart because his wife’s COVID-19 test was positive.
Brokhov said that his wife has an autoimmune disease, which puts her at high risk of COVID-19 complications, and the couple has a one-year-old son.
Broekhoff tweeted to announce news about his wife.

The 76ers signed Broekhoff in late June.
The 29-year-old has played 59 games for the Dallas Mavericks in the past two seasons, with a 40.3% three-point percentage.
In the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons, he and the Mavericks averaged 4.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 10.7 minutes.
The Mavericks gave up on Brovhofer on February 11.
