Allen Iverson shocked the first game of the Lakers (NBA) Finals on this day in 2001

Alan Iverson Leading the Philadelphia 76ers to the shocking 107-101 overtime victory of the Los Angeles Lakers.

He is done 48 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds and 5 steals. He is known for crossing the Lakers guard Tyronn Lue, knocking down a shot and crossing Lue. That shot gave the 76ers a 103-99 lead with less than a minute left in overtime. Iverson played 52:57 in the game.

Dikembe Mutombo also played well in Philadelphia. He scored 13 points, 16 rebounds and 5 blocks. When he participated in the game, the 76ers scored 14 points higher than the Lakers.

Shaquille O’Neal did his best for the Lakers, but it was not enough to win. He scored 44 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists. Rick Fox scored 19 points and Kobe Bryant scored 15 points.

Despite Iverson’s heroism, Los Angeles won the series in five games. The first game of the NBA Finals was their only playoff loss in 2001.
