Andre Drummond is reportedly expected to take on a player’s option at Cavs
Andre Drummond is expected to stay in Cleveland for at least one more season. The Star Center will take advantage of its $ 28.7 million option for the 2020-21 season as it is reported not to find this amount of money anywhere else.
“According to league sources, Drummond is likely to do this because he realistically doesn’t get any offers close to it in the free agency.” Evan Dammarell from Forbes wrote.
With the NBA pause due to the global pandemic, costs may need to be cut because of the financial implications.
After the Cavs trade for him in February, Drummond was really solid in his first 17 Cleveland Uniform games with an average of 17.5 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.
If the 26-year-old center stays in Cleveland, it will definitely start at the Cavaliers front, especially if the Tristan Thompson team doesn’t sign again in the upcoming free agency.
