Blake Griffin says he’ll be discussing his future with Pistons next season
Detroit Pistons star Blake Griffin was limited to only 18 games this season as he faced several knee problems throughout the year.
The Pistons chose the full “recovery mode” after trading with Andre Drummond and Reggie Jackson. With this in mind, Griffin’s future could not be in Detroit next season.
Nevertheless, the former Clippers star does not think as far ahead as he prepares for the next season after knee surgery.
“I’m on the Detroit Pistons and do everything I can to prepare, play for them and win games,” said Griffin per Michigan Live. “But what we do in the off-season, what we do next year, is entirely up to you. So when the time comes, we’ll have this conversation.”
Griffin, the veteran leader of a young Detroit Pistons team, said he felt great after several seasons with various injury issues.
“Basketball in general always excites me and I’m ready,” said Griffin. “We have a lot of decisions to make this summer and a lot of changes are likely to be made. I look forward to it and to every role that you ask of me. “
