David West asked why black coaches did not have a second chance

the6man Jul 27

The Knicks decided to sign Tom Thibodeau as their new head coach. They are not excited about the former NBA legendary professional player and the two-time All-Star David West.

It’s no secret that “Tibs” is working hard to train his players in practice and games.

Many players and analysts believe that Thibodurao’s aggressive coaching style has risked the long-term health of his players.

However, not everyone is against Thibodeau.

NBA champion and current analyst Kendrick Perkins said he is an ideal candidate for the Knicks and “the definition of culture.”

Although there is a lot of debate on Thibodu’s coaching style on Twitter, West emphasizes that black coaches seem to get less second chances than white coaches.

West also suggested that Mark Jackson, Tie Luy and Patrick Ewing are three candidates who did not get a fair chance in the head coach position.

As of today, there are eight black head coaches in the NBA.
