Eric Gordon is open to the Rockets trade, the team wants him to stay
With the Houston Rockets being selected in the 2021 NBA Draft and entering a full-scale reconstruction mode, the future of veteran sharpshooter Eric Gordon hangs in the balance.
After the team announced them and the point guard John Wall Will try to reach an agreement to let him leave Houston, many people wonder if this is also where the sixth man of the previous year is going.
So far, Gordon has not made a transaction request.
However, according to Kelly Iko of The Athletic, he expressed his willingness to be traded to a “more favorable situation”.
“They always know, and my position is definitely not easy,” Gordon said of Houston understanding his feelings.
“But my ultimate goal is to go out and play, help, prove that I am healthy and attracted to these people and make them better.”
Although all the roster, coaches and senior management have changed, Gordon did not express his desire to leave the town.
In fact, according to Iko, the Rockets “like” Gordon to stay and provide a veteran for a team full of young people.
Gordon is not completely used to speaking out because he has been playing with players like James Harden, Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook since joining the Rockets in 2016.
“When you win, you don’t have to shout,” Gordon said.
“It’s just about getting in and getting your job done. This is the easiest part of being on a good team. When you are in a young and rebuilding team, you have to give more-more. Like I said , I’m open to victory. When you’re open to victory, of course, you will help people at all costs. It’s always good to help people and integrate into victory.”
The Rockets and Gordon seem to have a very good relationship, and nothing that happens this season will cause a rift between the two sides.
If Gordon can return to normal from missing 45 games last season 17 points On the bench, if the Rockets decide that he is no longer needed, many suitors will call Houston and ask him to leave their hands.
