Harlem Globetrotters want NBA franchise

Since 1926, the Harlem Globetrotters have been entertaining fans with their unique basketball performances, and now they say they are ready for the NBA.

In a letter to the alliance, Globetrotters say that their influence on the NBA is undeniable, and now is the time they deserve it.

“As an organization whose legendary history has been closely intertwined with NBA history, the Harlem Globetrotters are looking for a belated seat. Our players played an important role in the integration of the league that dates back to 1949. When We stood proudly when our players were recruited by the team. Now, after many years of attracting the best black players, it is time for the NBA to recognize our contribution to the game. The league is already considering expansion. The time has come. Harlem Globetrotters is ready to negotiate the franchise.”

NBA Discussed expansion, Las Vegas and Seattle are mentioned as future teams.

But the globetrotter believes that their time has come.

“According to what we have proven, we can send a team of talents comparable to today’s professional players, and we hope to have the opportunity to do this. As a world-renowned and legendary professional basketball team, we ask Commissioner Adam Silver , The NBA governor, and the power to grant The Original Harlem Globetrotters an NBA franchise petition. Not now, but now!”

The Globetrotters praised the league’s growth as a “billion-dollar industry”, but also said that if the NBA takes social justice seriously, the need to return to “normal” looks different.

“You can’t act as if we no longer exist. It’s time to correct mistakes and rewrite history. Now is the time for the NBA to pay tribute to the Globetrotters for our sport, both in the United States and globally.”
