Horace Grant accuses Michael Jordan of lying in The Last Dance and calls him a “snitch”
Horace Grant was quite open about his opinion of The last Dance in an interview with Cape and Co. on ESPN 1000 in Chicago this week.
Grant, a former MJ teammate who appeared several times in the documentary, was accused of providing locker room information to journalist Sam Smith for his book. The Jordan rules. But Grant says MJ’s claim “is a real lie.”
“Lie, lie, lie. … If MJ had a grudge with me, let’s fix it like men,” Grant said per ESPN. “Let’s talk about it. Or we can arrange it differently. But still he goes out and expresses this lie that I was the source behind it [the book]. Sam and I have always been good friends. We are still good friends. But I would never personally make the holiness of this locker room. The very fact that Sam Smith was an investigative reporter. I think he had to have two sources, two to write a book. Why should MJ just point this out to me?
“It’s just a grudge, man. I tell you, it was just a grudge. And I think he proved it in this so-called documentary. If you say something about him, he’ll cut you off and try to destroy your character . “
Grant also called Jordan a snitch because he had revealed that he had seen drugs in his teammates’ room as a freshman.
“And my point is, he said I was the snitch, but still, and after 35 years, he’s bringing his novice year into his teammate’s room and sees cola, grass, and women,” he remarked. “My point is: why the hell did he want to address this? What does that have to do with anything? I mean, if you wanna call someone a snitch, that’s a damn snitch right there. “
