Although the former Laker Jared Dudley retired relatively smoothly because he immediately became an assistant coach for the Dallas Mavericks, the veteran believed that the Los Angeles Lakers would make better decisions by keeping him for another year.

The 36-year-old former player admitted that he wanted to stay on the Lakers roster for another season, but the team gave priority to signing young players rather than him. In Dudley’s view, such a move is wrong.

pass through Bill Praschke:

“I talked to Rob and Kurt, and I thank them, but I told them that you value young people more than the people in the locker room,” Dudley said. “I said, ‘I respect you for doing this, but I think you are wrong.”

Dudley also revealed that both LeBron James and Anthony Davis want the Lakers to fire him, but management has other plans.
