Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss advised legendary Phil Jackson not to become president of the New York Knicks in 2014.

Jackson, who won a record 11 NBA titles as head coach, retired from coaching in 2011 but returned to basketball in 2014 as President of the Knicks.

“I told him not to take it because it’s crazy there. Jeanie [Buss] told him not to take it. If he got there, their relationship would end 3,000 miles away, ”said Charley Rosen, a close friend, confidant, and former Jackson assistant coach Marc Berman of the New York Post.
