Joel Embiid says he trained six times a week
Joel Embiid, the star of the Philadelphia 76ers, has announced that he trains six times a week to make sure he’s fit for the United States NBA’s scheduled restart next month.
The center, arguably the best in its position in the entire league, has been criticized several times for its fitness, but says it has something to prove before the season resumes in Orlando.
Talk to in an interview NBA.comLauren Rosen said Embiid:
“We’ve been working on it about six times a week in the past four weeks, just trying to get a head start and prepare for anything that comes.” I have to prove something and I feel that it will be my time when this opportunity arises.
“I felt like I was on this path before the end of the season. Especially after this all-star game, my mentality changed completely. The first part of the season was not up to my standards, not even nearby. I was on my way to change everything, go out and make it happen. “
Joel Embiid saw his stats fall this season
Before the league ended in March, Embiid had not performed as well as last season. The player saw their scoring average drop from 27.5 points per night to 23.4 points, with their rebound also dropping from 13.6 to 11.8 points.
It wouldn’t be wrong to assume that the perspective has changed given the current conditions and fans will be looking forward to what kind of production they’ll get from their big all-star man later this year.
