JR Smith is expected to sign for Lakers this week before the transaction deadline
The Los Angeles Lakers are expected to sign a contract in which veteran JR Smith will replace the Avery Bradley with the team in the Orlando bubble.
Bradley has chosen to suspend the rest of the seasonalong with a handful of other players.
According to the reporter, this is Marc Stein, who quotes league sources on allegations that the Lakers will sign the free agent guard on Tuesday evening before 11:59 a.m. The NBA transaction window is scheduled to close on Wednesday this week.
“According to league sources, the Lakers are expected to sign a rest of the season contract with J. R. Smith before the NBA’s” transaction window “closes on Tuesday at 11:59 p.m. ET,” Stein tweeted Monday.
JR Smith has not played since 2018 and has not left the Cleveland Cavaliers on very good terms. He has worked for a number of teams since his departure – including the Lakers – and could reunite with LeBron James.
The couple won a ring together in 2016; James’ recent social media activity suggests that he expects to see you again.
