Knicks: Could you revive interest in Carmelo Anthony?
Ian Begley from SNY New York reported on Friday that the Kinks will try to add a striker who can shoot and list Carmelo Anthony as a possible option. Begley notes that last summer the team thought hard about signing Anthony, but that he gave up their plans when they didn’t sign the stars they wanted. New York Knicks President Leon Rose has been Anthony’s agent for many years and remains “close” to the ten-time All-Star.
36-year-old Anthony experienced a renaissance with the Portland Trail Blazer this season after almost leaving the league. He averaged 15.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game at 37.1 percent of 50 to Portland.
While Anthony’s seven seasons in New York often went up and down, he seemed very open to the possibility of a meeting earlier this year.
