LaMelo Ball: “In 15 years, I want to be the best person who has ever played the game.”
LaMelo Ball, one of the best prospects for the 2020 NBA draft, has very high goals for his NBA career. The 18-year-old Point Guard wants to be the best player ever in fifteen years. To achieve this status, he would have to outperform some of the basketball greats like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant or LeBron James, to name just a few.
“In 15 years, I want to be the best person who has ever played the game,” said LaMelo via Christopher Riley from GQ. LaVar Ball’s youngest son had a unique path to the NBA when he started his professional career at the age of 16 when he signed a contract with Vytautas Prienai in Lithuania.
After four months in Europe, LaMelo and his brother LiAngelo returned to the United States. There he signed with Los Angeles Ballers for the Junior Basketball Association, a new college alternative league that his father founded.
In 2019, he signed a two-year contract with the Illawarra Hawks of the Australian NBL. In 12 NBL games, Ball scored an average of 17 points, 7.4 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game. After an unfinished first season in Australia, LaMelo chose the 2020 NBA draft.
