LaVar Ball explains why LaMelo will be number one
LaMelo Ball, the youngest son of LaVar Ball, is about to enter the NBA. After a season in Australia with the Illawarra Hawks, the 18-year-old Point Guard is expected to be among the top 5 in the NBA Draft 2020.
“Whoever is most popular will usually be number one,” said LaVar Kazeem Famuyide on Say Less with Kaz. “Usually the one who is the best guardian will be tall in the draft. RJ Barrett actually looked like he had a better start and plan than Zion. But thanks to the dunks, shoes, Zion was stronger, more popular. So he went to number one.
“Look who’s number two. Yes Morant. Came from Murray State. Murray State isn’t a big school. But you’re the best guardian in the game … Now you have Melo who is the most popular than anyone else in the design “And the best guard. They get two for one. Who won’t consider him number one? You have to be a fool, even if you don’t like him, you don’t like what’s going on, you get him and act.”
When asked what happens when the Golden State Warriors, who have Steph Curry as their point guard, get number one, Father Ball claimed that it would still make sense for them to design LaMelo. “Melo is the only one in the design that is worldwide. The way it is set up, people have to do it,” said LaVar.
According to NBADraft.netLaMelo is expected to be the third choice for the Minnesota Timberwolves (as of June 21).
