In the ongoing discussion about the start date of the 2020/21 season, the NBA and NBPA agreed to extend the period for withdrawing from the current CBA.

The new deadline is November 6 (the next Friday), and the league and the players association will have more time to reach an agreement on the start date of the new season.

Currently, the NBA hopes that this season will start on December 22 and have 72 regular season games.

On the other hand, several superstars tried to postpone the start date to January 18. In this case, the regular season will be reduced to 50 games.

The NBA hopes to complete the season before the start of the Tokyo Olympics on July 23, 2021.
