Nets just before Michael Beasley’s signing
Experienced free agent Michael Beasley is aiming for a deal with the Brooklyn Nets, according to Shams Charania.
Beasley has a strong relationship with Kevin Durant, Charania adds.
The 31-year-old has not played in the NBA this season, most recently 26 games for the Los Angeles Lakers last season.
Beasley will sign a minimum salary contract for the remaining season if both sides reach an agreement.
However, Beasley was suspended for five games in August 2019 for violating the NBA’s anti-drug policy, and is reportedly pending this suspension Bobby Marks from ESPN.
He would have to miss the first five games of the restart of the season and then play in the last three “seeding games”, play-in games (if necessary) and the postseason.
The networks have already agreed a deal with the 40-year-old Jamal Crawford and when Beasley signs it gives the team two experienced veterans to restart the NBA.
