Patrick Ewing tied for the finals with eight blocks on this date in 1994

Patrick Ewing dominates the Houston Rockets at both ends of the court. He led the New York Knicks to a 91-84 victory at Madison Square Garden. The victory gave New York a 3-2 series lead.

Ewing beat Hakeem Olajuwon in the game. Ewing scored 25 points, 12 rebounds and 8 blocks. Olajuwon scored 27 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks.

The Knicks also received important contributions from John Starks and Anthony Mason. Starks had 19 points, Mason had 17 points and 9 rebounds.

The game tied for three quarters, but the Knicks led Houston 30-23 in the fourth quarter.

Ewing’s record remained for 15 years, until Dwight Howard blocked 9 goals for Orlando Magic in Game 4 of the 2009 Finals.
