Report: Adam Silver “expressed his determination to continue” despite the COVID-19 top in Florida
The NBA’s plan to continue the season at Walt Disney World in Orlando is threatened by an increasing number of new coronavirus cases in Florida. However, Commissioner Adam Silver is reportedly convinced of the bladder concept developed by the league.
At the same time, the league is closely monitoring the situation. One of the concerns of the National Basketball Players Association is the fact that Disney employees who are allowed to leave the bladder are not tested like the players. Should the situation worsen, the NBPA could ask the league for stricter rules for third parties.
In at least one recent conversation with high-level team leaders, NBA commissioner Adam Silver confirmed the top numbers in Florida. Several team sources described the general tone of this call, including the questions Silver asked, as tense. Another called Silver’s tone “determined but somber”. He expressed his determination to continue – trust in the NBA’s bladder concept – while acknowledging the severity of the coronavirus surge.
