Sam Cassell tells the story of how he plays pickup with Russell Westbrook
Sam Cassell spoke about the competitive spirit of Russell Westbrook during the “Go Off Podcast” by Austin River“. The Los Angeles Clippers assistant coach told a story about the Houston Rockets superstar and Rivers teammate Russell Westbrook who played with him when he was at UCLA.
Cassell and Westbrook faced each other when Russell was at UCLA and the veteran guard was a member of the Clippers in the 12th year of his career.
“We went to UCLA in the summer. I will be there one day and work on him, I only do pump faking and everything. And he just has so much energy. After Cassell processed him at their first meeting, Westbrook was determined to take one back against the seasoned Combo Guard.
