Sixers coach Brett Brown wants Joel Embiid to play more minutes
Head coach of Philadelphia 76ers Brett Brown wants Superstar Center Joel Embiid to have more playtime.
Brown said Embiid’s weight was still a problem, but the Sixers’ tall man was working hard to reach his ideal weight.
“Joel is always a topic. We get it. The meaning that he represents as a parallel to winning a championship or not is real.
I have had many conversations with Jo. I spoke to him 30 minutes ago and he has a real desire to have a game weight that has been his best since he was in the league.
I feel like this year [he’s] It’s 30 minutes on average and last year it’s 34. When the playoffs start picking the dates I want, my ideal is that I want to play them for about 38 minutes.
I would really do it. In a playoff situation as head coach that’s my ideal number. You bring him in the regular season and I think 30 was the number he landed in this year, but maybe [this break could be helpful].
I have the feeling that Joel is complete – and that’s a good thing. Joel is fully aware that we are going with his health and fitness, ”Brown said about Paul Hudrick from NBC Sports Philadelphia.
