Steph Curry shoots the criticism of the “system player”
Steph Curry welcomed the WNBA season on his social media accounts and also shot the System Player review by ESPN analyst Bomani Jones.
Johnson implied that without a great system around him, Curry couldn’t win, unlike players like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
(Per Grandstand report):
“You tell me that you have Steph – I want you to tell me a little more. … My only problem with Steph – that’s a big problem – getting his own shot. He can get his own shot if he shoots it from 40 (feet).
“He has a sick grip and all that stuff. There is something else. It is difficult to explain what Steph is like, but Steph is somehow the greatest system player of all time. And I am not saying that to shade him. But you don’t go 1-4 flat and say, “Get us a bucket.”
Johnson argued that the Golden State Warriors superstar was unable to win on his own terms.
Sometimes Curry’s Hall of Fame status has been overlooked due to lack of athleticism and its effects on the defensive.
Still, he’s the best shooter the NBA has ever seen, an incredible ball handler, a great finisher in color, and one of the most influential superstars in the game’s history.
