The 2020 WNBA Draft is the most followed draft in 16 years and the second most watched draft in ESPN history. The network broadcasts a draft on its main channel. Unlike previous years, the first round was broadcast on ESPN2, and the second and third rounds were broadcast on ESPN3.
According to statistics from the league, the virtual event averaged 387,000 viewers on ESPN, an increase of 123% from the 2019 draft and a 33% increase from the last time the network was broadcast live in 2011. Due to the pandemic pandemic, recruits also participated in remote meetings.
- Other notes: WNBA and NBA social media handles generated 6.5 million video views (up 165% from last year) and 1.3 million minutes of viewing time (up 237% from last year).
