The absence of the Knicks in Orlando favors Thibodeau’s arrival in New York
The New York Knicks are one of eight teams not participating in the NBA restart in Orlando, but it turns out that’s okay for them.
According to Marc Berman of the New York PostThe Knicks will have a significant advantage in finding Tom Thibodeau as head coach because they miss this restart. Other teams interested in Thibodeau, such as the Houston Rockets and Brooklyn Nets, will be playing until August at least, preventing them from starting their search.
According to Berman, Thibodeau would be interested in working on the missiles when Mike D’Antoni leaves, but the long wait probably excludes them as an option.
In any case, Thibodeau will be the next Knicks manager as long as he wants the job. If you don’t want to wait until August or September, this may be your only option.
