The already exhausted Brooklyn Nets continue to lose players before the NBA restarts in July. Spencer Dinwiddie and Deandre Jordan both tested positive for coronavirus. Jordan has decided not to return this season.

Brooklyn was already without Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. It was then announced that rookie center Nicolas Claxton would be operated on to fix a labrum in his shoulder and will miss the rest of the season.

Wilson Chandler announced that he would not be returning this season, and Brooklyn also cut Theo Pinson.

This will make the networks’ post-season journey much more difficult, but this is also an opportunity for players under the radar to improve.

Point Guard Chris Chiozza had played very well for the Nets and got used to the rotation before the season was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. He could see a longer season when the season resumed.

In addition, the Nets recently signed Tyler Johnson and Justin Anderson. Both should now have some playing time.

The rest of this season should give the nets and the idea of which players to keep next season when Durant and Irving are expected to return.

I grew up in Brooklyn, New York and chose the Rangers, Yankees, Giants and Knicks. When my dream of playing shortstop for the Yankees fell short, I started writing about sports instead. I am a proud graduate of the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland.
