The Milwaukee Bucks make history and hire Lisa Byington for live TV
The Milwaukee Bucks are Make history On and off the stadium, this time Lisa Byington was hired as the first female full-time live TV announcer for the major men’s professional sports team.
The team announced on Wednesday that it welcomes Beinton to join the Bucks.
“We are very happy to welcome Lisa to the Bucks family and to bring such a talented announcer to our broadcast team,” said Peter Fekin, Chair of the Bucks and Fiserv Forum. “Lisa has an extensive TV broadcasting background, including her work for NCAA high-level basketball games on multiple national networks, making her the perfect choice for this important role.”

The Bucks’ position is not the first time Beinton has broken barriers.
This Northwestern University alumnus is the first female voice actor in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championships of CBS and Turner Sports.
Last summer, she served as the announcer for men’s and women’s football matches in NBC Sports’ coverage of the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
Byington acknowledged that her employment has historical significance and impact.
“I understand the groundbreaking nature of this recruitment, and I appreciate the fact that in the process, this aspect has been resolved, but it has never been the main concern. In fact, I commend the Bucks for taking the first place Step forward, let this kind of recruitment become the norm in the NBA. Because it’s time.”
