The Orlando Magic reach Disney World without three players
The Orlando Magic arrived at Disney World to enter the NBA bubble and prepare for the restart of the season.
It was later announced by Magic President of basketball operations Jeff Weltman that three players did not join the team in the camp.
The three members of the squad were, in particular, Markelle Fultz, Al-Farouq Aminu and an unnamed player who recently tested positive for COVID-19.
According to NBA.com::
“The Magic had some problems on Tuesday when three players failed to travel to the Disney campus with the squad for various reasons. Markelle Fultz, outstanding point guard, is not on the team as he deals with a personal matter, and Weltman said he expects the 22-year-old to return to the squad soon after his “excused absence”. Weltman said a Magic player who is not free to disclose recently tested positives for the COVID 19 virus, and this player hopes to return to his teammates at Disney in the coming days. “
After two disappointing seasons due to injuries, Fultz made a great comeback with the Magic this season until the season ended in March.
The talented point guard averaged 12.1 points, 5.2 assists and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 47.5% of the field.
Hopefully Fultz will join the team later. On the other hand, Al-Farouq Aminu, who has been on the move since November after tearing a meniscus, did not travel to Disney with the team, as he continues his rehab at the Magic facility.
