Three months after diagnosis, Rudy Gobert is still suffering from coronavirus.
Gorbert said his sense of smell is still not correct.
Gorbert told the French newspaper “L’Equipe”: “The taste has been restored, but the smell is still not 100%.”
“I can smell it, but I can’t smell it in the distance. I talked to experts and they told me it might take up to a year [to return to normal]. “
Gobert was the first NBA player to report a positive Coronavirus, which forced the league to suspend the season in March.
When asked if he was “100%” in the game, Gobert said that he didn’t know until he returned to the court.
He said he still felt “strange”, but was not sure whether it was because of the virus or just because of long-term layoffs, which he called the longest in his life.
Overall, he said: “I feel in good health”, and he does not feel more tired than usual.
Gobert’s Utah Jazz will play against the New Orleans Pelicans on July 30 to restart the season.
