Trevor Ariza on the age of the Lakers players
The revamped Los Angeles Lakers roster is the oldest in the entire NBA, with most players being 32 years or older. One of the new additions who “helped” increase the average team age was Trevor Ariza.
The 36-year-old small forward returned to the Lakers after 12 years with 7 different teams. Ariza last wore purple and gold in the 2008-2009 season. In his opinion, the fact that most Lakers players are veterans gives the team an edge.
“I think the upside is that we’ve all seen so much in this league that nothing is surprising,” said Ariza. “We know how long the season lasts. How you keep your pace, how you take care of your body. To understand how important it is for everyone to be on the same page in order to achieve this ultimate goal and that is to win the championship at the end of the year. “
Last season, Ariza averaged 9.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game for the Miami Heat.
