Tyus Jones, Backup Point Guard from Memphis Grizzlies, has knee pain and will be reassessed in about a week, the team said.

The Grizzlies will play three games against the Portland Trail Blazers on July 31, August 2 against San Antonio Spurs and August 3 against New Orleans Pelicans.

In 65 games this season Jones scored an average of 7.4 points, 1.6 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game.

Jones is the only other real point guard on the squad, other than star rookie Ja Morant.

Guards De’Anthony Melton and Grayson Allen will be potential candidates to better handle the ball if Morant fails.
