Warrior trainer Steve Kerr says Klay Thompson “looked great” in the last training sessions
Klay Thompson has reportedly been training without restriction in the past few weeks, and Steve Kerr has traveled from San Diego to watch Thompson hit.
According to his coach who joined Tolbert, Kreuger & Brooks from KNBR“ The Warriors’ superstar looked “great” on Friday.
Per NBC Sports::
“It was great to see him,” said Kerr. “He looked great. He moved well and, as expected, simply turned around [shots]. So he looked good. He’s not playing “live” yet, he hasn’t made any contacts, but that’s the last step and there is obviously a lot of time for it. It is on schedule and everything is going well. “
Thompson seriously injured his ACL while playing the 2019 NBA Finals. He missed the entire 2019-2020 season, which the Warriors ended with the league’s worst record of 15-50.
Kerr revealed that missing the entire season was really demoralizing for Thompson, who had never suffered such a serious injury in his career.
“Because if you love to play, it’s just devastating not to play,” continued Kerr. “He really had problems not being able to play this year and just not knowing what to do … because he couldn’t really do much in rehab.
“In the beginning there was a lot of rest and then the team went out on the street. Klay loves being part of the group, beating each other and joking. I just think that he really missed everything this year, the whole experience. So I know that he can’t wait to be out there again. “
